Dental health for your pets

Did you know that 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of periodontal disease by the age of 3? Left untreated, dental disease isn’t just bad for your pet’s teeth; it can damage internal organs, including the heart, liver and kidneys.

Routine dental cleanings help prevent periodontal disease and allow a complete oral exam that can detect hidden health problems. Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked at least once a year. We would be happy to show you how to get your pet used to having its teeth brushed.

Concerned your pet might need anesthesia? It’s necessary for some procedures, including dentistry. Read the AVMA guide and talk to us about any concerns you have.
